  • VIT University - Request from Universal Higher Education Trust

    Dear VITians,

    Greetings from VIT University !

We are glad to inform you that we have established UNIVERSAL HIGHER EDUCATION TRUST (UHET) during 2012 under the stewardship of our beloved Chancellor Dr. G.Viswanathan. The Trust is aiming to facilitate access to higher education for all the deserving economically poor candidates. The UHET embraces financial assistance, career counseling, advocacy, networking and educational outreach. It ensures all those who pass +2 (HSC) would get admission in any one of higher educational institutions.

This project is envisaged to be implemented in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu which is one of the educationally backward districts in the state. During the Academic Year 2012-13, one hundred and five eligible candidates got benefitted with scholarship worth Rs. 12 lakhs. This project will cover all the 13 assembly constituencies in Vellore district by the end of 12th Five Year Plan, which will end in 2017. Our goal is to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by facilitating Higher Education for all the eligible students to set a model to other districts/states in the country.

In order to execute this ambitious project, we require huge budget to help economically poor students. It would not be possible without your support and other well wishers as well. It is our pledge that 100% of your donated funds would go to direct implementation of the project. We have attached UHET flyer herewith for your reference.

It would be nice if you could contribute / sponsor a student or group of students or bear any other cost of this project. Even a small donation goes a long way in helping underprivileged to have a brighter future.

Donations to Universal Higher Education Trust (UHET) are exempted from tax u/s 80G of IT Act.

Those who are willing to make contribution/donate for this noble cause, may kindly contact Mr. Muthuveeran, Project Director – UHET (email: muthu.r@vit.ac.in). You can also transfer money directly to the Trust’s account, the details are given below.
